With most of the WNBA still battling for playoff position, the Las Vegas Aces' matchup with the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday at Michelob Ultra Arena (9 p.m. ET, ESPN) will be a big one for seeding.
The Aces sit at No. 3 in the standings with eight games left in the regular season. The Aces are two games ahead of the Dream and a half a game ahead of the fourth-place Indiana Fever.
Las Vegas was the second team to clinch a postseason bid this year, after the No. 1 Minnesota Lynx. Golden Statebeat Dallas to claim its postseason spot on Monday.
On Tuesday, the Aces (24-12) will look to complete a regular-season sweep of the Dream after winning their two previous games.
Guard Jackie Young, who is averaging 18.4 points and 6.7 assists per game, was key scored
28 points to help lead the Aces to the 109-87 victory on Aug. 3.
Four-time league MVP A’ja Wilson scored 32 points in the Aces' last game, a 92-87 loss to the Lynx on Saturday. She's leading the league with 26.1 points and 2.0 blocks per game.
Aces starter NaLyssa Smith leads the league in field goal shooting at 63.6%. Her double-double against the Lynx was her third in the last five games.
The Dream (21-13) are led by WNBA All-Stars Allisha Gray (19.6 points per game) and Rhyne Howard (17.8 points per game). Angel Reese, who leads the league in rebounding with 12.1 per game, has scored at least 20 points in six of her last 10 games. That includes a 23-point, 12-rebound performance against the Aces on Aug. 3.
