The 2026 US Open heads into the quarterfinal stage on Tuesday, Sept. 8, showcasing many of the tournament's top seeds battling for a spot in both the men’s and women’s singles semifinals.
The day kicks off with the first women’s singles quarterfinal, featuring Wworld No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, who is aiming for her fourth US Open title. She will take on Wimbledon champion and No. 6 seed Linda Noskova, who endured a tense battle against Marta Kostyuk – requiring six match points – to ultimately secure her spot in the quarterfinals.
The second women’s quarterfinal sets the stage for an all-American showdown between No. 3 seed Jessica Pegula and No. 26 seed Emma Navarro.
Turning to the men’s draw, fans will see another all-American battle as No. 11 seed
Frances Tiafoe faces off against the unseeded Alex Michelsen.
The evening session will culminate with a marquee matchup as defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, the No. 2 seed, takes on No. 8 seed Ben Shelton.
