Tampa Bay Rays superstar Junior Caminero was at the center of the team's postgame party as they celebrated sweeping the New York Yankees in the ALDS.
It began on the field after the final out, as he did a dramatic sweeping gesture. He then was seen shouting "the Yankees lose!" − a phrase made famous by his countryman David Ortiz − while doing Stephen Curry's "night night" celebration.
But the real partying began in the locker room.
"Sweep! The Yankees lose!" Caminero shouted during an interview.
He gave high praise to Rays pitchers Drew Rasmussen, Nick Martinez and Bryan Baker, declaring them the best pitchers in the league. Asked what he was best at in the league, Caminero replied "I'm the best in the world."
Caminero hit 42 home runs in the regular
season and had a strong ALDS for the top-seeded Rays. Tampa Bay will now await the winner of the White Sox-Guardians series in the ALCS.
