Kenny Dillingham had an important message for Arizona State football fans following the Sun Devils' 28-17 win vs. Kansas State on Saturday, Oct. 24.
If you're not with the team, you're against it.
Dillingham's admonition against ASU fans came after they booed backup quarterback Cutter Boley. The QB2 entered the game to a chorus of boos after starter Mikey Keene was forced to leave the game late in the second quarter due to injury.
Per reports, the home crowd booed Boley as he entered the game and as he took a sack on the final play of the half. The issue, seemingly, was that they wanted to see heralded freshman Jake Fette, a 4-star QB in the 2026 recruiting
class.

Boley was greeted with one of the loudest roars of boo’s I’ve ever heard immediately after it was announced he was in the game.@DevilsDigest pic.twitter.com/E7QSzuzve5
Fans got their wish at the beginning of the fourth quarter, when Fette came on to lead two touchdown drives to lead the Sun Devils back from a 17-14 deficit.
That did not stop Dillingham from ripping into fans, however.
"I'm just always going to defend our players," Dillingham said in his postgame news conference. "Like, I don't care. My players are first. Like, don't boo. My players are first. I protect my players. That's to my core. It's me and my team vs. everybody who is against us. Everybody."

Keene did not return to the game, as he came out of the locker room with a brace on his knee. He finished the game completing 10 of 20 passes for 160 yards. Boley completed only one of his five passes for seven yards, while Fette completed three of six passes for 45 yards. He also led the two fourth-quarter scoring drives.
With the win, Arizona State advanced to 4-3 on the season and 2-2 in Big 12 play.
