South Carolina Republicans will decide Tuesday, Aug. 11, who should take the late Sen. Lindsey Graham's place on the Nov. 3 ballot.
The winner of the special Republican primary is heavily favored to win the general election and serve what would have been Graham's fifth term in the Senate for the next six years.
The late senator's sister, Sen. Darline Graham, of Lexington, is serving the last few months of Graham's term. She is running for the nomination against 11 other people and has an endorsement from President Donald Trump.
Who is on the ballot in South Carolina?
Trump held a tele-rally on Aug. 10 for Graham, saying "she fully supports the Trump agenda" and is "the perfect person to carry on Lindsey's legacy."
The other top candidates are Reps. Russell Fry of Murrels Inlet and Ralph
Norman of Rock Hill; former Gov. Mark Sanford; and Mark Lynch, a businessman who lost the June 9 primary.
When do the polls open in South Carolina?
The polls opened at 7 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m. Anyone who is still in line at 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
