Miami-Dade County will be offering free back-to-school vaccines at clinics throughout the area, just before classes start back up on Aug. 13.
The initiative is part of a "collaborative effort" between the Florida Department of Health and Community Health Centers, according to a social media post by Miami-Dade Public Schools
. Participating clinics throughout the area will be offering "free back-to-school immunizations" on Saturday, Aug. 8.A full list of required immunizations by grade level is available on the Florida Department of Health's website.
Eleven total clinics will be participating. Miami-Dade Schools provides a chart with their names, addresses, hours and information on whether appointments are recommend or required.
A parent or guardian must be present for a child to receive their immunization, according to M-DCPS. Additionally, the child's immunization records must be brought along to the clinic.

Below is a list of participating clinics, according to Miami-Dade Public Schools:

When does school start in South Florida?
Broward: Classes start on August 10 and end on May 28
Miami-Dade: Classes start on August 13 and end on June 3.
Monroe: Classes start on August 12 and end on May 28.
Palm Beach County: Classes start on August 10 and end on May 27.
Sales tax holiday for back-to-school shopping in Florida
Florida's 2026 back-to-school sales tax holiday for school supplies began Monday, July 20, and will run through Thursday, Aug. 20.
Which back-to-school items qualify?
According to the Florida Department of Revenue, the full list of qualifying items includes the following, "if they meet the specified price limits and other conditions":
- Personal computers or personal computer-related accessories purchased for noncommercial home or personal use having a sales price of $1,500 or less, including:
- Calculators
- Desktops
- Electronic book readers
- Handhelds
- Laptops
- Tablets
- Tower computers
- Personal computer-related accessories, including:
- Keyboards

- Monitors
- Nonrecreational software
