The Transportation Security Administration may have recently unveiled a new gate pass programat select airports, but did you know the Philadelphia Airport already has one?
At the Philadelphia International Airport, non-flying guests are able to enter the airport terminals through a program called Wingmate.
Much like the Gateside by TSA PreCheck offering, friends and families can apply online to greet their travelers or spend some extra time before sendoff.
How long are Wingmate passes good for at PHL?
Wingmate passes are valid for six hours, according to the airport website.
No re-entry is available after exit.
How to apply for Wingmate at PHL
Interested parties may apply for Wingmate through the PHL website.
Guests are not permitted to bring more than one personal item (like a purse or briefcase), and minors must be accompanied
by an approved adult.
Applications should be submitted 1-7 days before visiting, and a REAL ID or Passport will be needed to accompany your digital Wingmate pass through security.
Does PHL International have the new TSA gate passes?
No, according to the list of participating airports, PHL is not one of the 13 locations using Gateside by TSA PreCheck.
