San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey exited the 49ers game on Sunday, Oct. 25, with a thigh injury.
The Niners dynamic running back was seen on the sideline, inside the medical tent, during a game against the Falcons. McCaffrey has not been in the game for at least 7 minutes. His return is questionable.
It is just the latest injury issue for the Niners, who came into Week 7 without Mike Evans and plenty of other key pieces across the roster.
With a bye week looming in Week 8, San Francisco chose to be cautious with Evans. It remains to be seen how they will proceed with the star running back, who is the key to the Kyle Shanahan offense.
Here's the latest on McCaffrey.
Christian McCaffrey injury update
McCaffrey is listed as questionable to return with a thigh injury, the team announced.
The running back was seen getting his leg worked on by the training staff late in the first quarter against the Falcons in Week 7. In his absence, Kaelon Black has been handling the workload out of the San Francisco backfield. He burst through the defense for a 30-yard rushing touchdown to extend the Niners lead to begin the second quarter.
Jordan James would be next in line behind Black on the depth chart.
