Will Taylor Swift be at the Emmys?
Host Mariska Hargitay enlisted her "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" cast to solve the mystery during a pre-taped skit at the 78th Emmy Awards Sept. 14.
"The Emmys are tonight, and the mayor's office is breathing down my neck, demanding an answer to the big question," Hargitay said. "Will Taylor Swift be at the Emmys?"
The investigation began with a crime board filled with photos, red string and plenty of Swift Easter eggs.
"In order to crack a Swiftie case, you gotta think like a Swiftie, because the Swifties think that everything is a clue to what she'll do next," Hargitay said.

The detectives connected Emmy nominations to Swift's lucky number 13, Kansas City and Travis Kelce before working their way through
references to "Red," "Bad Blood," "Look What You Made Me Do" and "Reputation," which was written across the board.
The case took another turn when Swift, with darker short hair, appeared as a rookie investigator.
"Hey, guys. This isn't adding up," Swift said. "Our perp has a clear M.O. A lot of this doesn't fit the pattern, and I don't think everything is a clue."
"It is to the Swifties," Hargitay responded.
Swift then looked directly into the camera and offered a cryptic clue of her own: "Saccharide. Aries. From the vineyard. North or south."
"What did you just say?" Hargitay asked.
"I didn't say anything," Swift replied.
The investigation continued until Swift pointed out a more obvious piece of evidence: Her Eras Tour project earned five Emmy nominations, but those categories were awarded the previous week.
"Why would she be showing up to the ceremony tonight?" Swift asked. "She's probably going to be sitting at home playing with those cats she's named after TV show characters."
That clue brought the investigation back to Hargitay. Swift named one of her cats Olivia Benson after Hargitay's longtime "SVU" character.
"Wait, I'm Olivia Benson," Hargitay said.
Hargitay and Swift have been friends for more than a decade. The actress appeared in Swift's star-studded "Bad Blood" music video in 2015 and attended Swift and Kelce's wedding on July 3.
Eventually, the detectives landed on the clue that mattered: The Denver Broncos were playing the Kansas City Chiefs at the same time as the Emmys.

"Guys, the answer has been TV this whole time because they have a game right now," Hargitay said before declaring, "Taylor Swift will not be at the Emmys."
Swift, however, had one final suggestion.
"Maybe she's going to do one of those cool pre-taped sketch things to support the host," she said.
As the skit aired, Swift was exactly where the investigation concluded she would be: at Arrowhead Stadium watching Kelce and the Chiefs play the Broncos.
During the first quarter, cameras panned to the singer sitting alongside Tom Cruise in a suite. Swift, wearing a red-and-cream checkered button-up, took a sip of a drink while the actor talked.
