With the start of the USC football practices, Trojans fans are learning more about the new faces hoping to become household names in Southern California.
With a post to the social media platform X, four-star wide receiver Boobie Feaster re-entered the national lexicon.
People around the country started responding to the photos and video of Feaster — primarily about his name — with jokes, some curiosity and, on occasion, a USC fan excited to see one of the top recruits of the program's 2026 cycle in action.

Who is Boobie Feaster? Let's take a quick look back at the All-American's high school days, and, perhaps as importantly, the creation of his nickname.
Who is Boobie Feaster?
Before Boobie,
Ethan Feaster was a young child playing 5U flag football. He played only defense until his dad yelled out a famous line from Friday Night Lights to a coach in a one-possession game: "If you want to win, put Boobie in." That launched the 4-year-old's track to be a star, per TexasFootball.com.
He's not James "Boobie" Miles, but Feaster went on to take Texas by storm, becoming one of the top prospects in the state, where he played at DeSoto High School, wracking up accolades, college offers and postseason success.

Feaster got off to an electric start in high school, wracking up numbers as a freshman as he recorded 32 receptions 634 yards with nine touchdowns. He helped the team go 15-0, completing its undefeated season with a 74-14 championship victory over Summer Creek, and scored a touchdown in the title game. He finished that freshman campaign with a touchdown in six of the final seven games of the season.
He saw a jump in production as a sophomore, recording 57 receptions and 824 yards with 13 touchdowns, prompting a reclassification from the class of 2027 to 2026. It proved fruitful, as he was already one of the best receivers in the nation — as a senior, he was named to USA TODAY Sports' All-American Second Team Offense, recording 1,676 yards on 85 receptions and 18 touchdowns to serve as a key offensive cog for another DeSoto championship run. He had 130 yards and a touchdown in the semifinals and 167 yards and two touchdowns in the title game.

Starting college at just 17 years old, he'll look to bring that talent to a loaded USC team.
USC's 2026 recruiting class
Feaster, ranked the No. 4 WR on the 247Sports Composite, is one of the biggest grabs for USC, but the Trojans have several other four- and five-star players entering their system.
Kayden Dixon-Wyatt joins Feaster as another dynamic freshman receiver, rated as a four-star player in the top-100 of all recruits. His Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA) teammate Mark Bowman, a tight end, will also join them as offensive talent.
On the line, five-star OT Keenyi Pepe — ranked the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country — will protect the core. Five-star defensive linemen Luke Wafle and Jaimeon Winfield provide opportunities for havoc-wreckers from the other side of the ball, as does another star from Mater Dei, DL Tomuhini Topui.
In all, USC's 2026 recruiting class was ranked No. 6 in the nation, consisting of three five-star players, 22 four-star recruits, and 18 with a three-star rating.
