After suffering an injury during Germany's 1-1 draw at the Netherlands on Thursday, forward Kai Havertz has returned to Arsenal for treatment.

The 27-year-old suffered the injury after a challenge from Dutch midfielder Quinten Timber. Attempting to play through it in the beginning, he ultimately was subbed off in the 30th minute.

Havertz missed the first half of the 2025-26 campaign due to a knee injury that required surgery. The German international would play in 27 matches across all competitions, registering 12 goal contributions en route to the Gunners winning their first Premier League title since the 2003-04 season.

Germany, who are playing their first matches under new manager Jürgen Klopp, take on Greece twice and Serbia during the remainder

of the September/October international window.

Once the international break concludes, Arsenal hosts Leeds United at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 10. The defending champions look to bounce back after a tough 3-0 loss at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Currently, the Gunners are second in the Premier League table with 12 points, three behind Manchester City, who have had a perfect start to the 2026-27 campaign.
