The Chicago White Sox were the only team in Tuesday's four wild card openers to win on the road. That shouldn't really have come as a surprise since they did have a better regular season record (84-78) than the AL West champion Houston Astros (81-81).
The Sox will go for the sweep Wednesday afternoon in Houston with their top starting pitcher, right-hander Sean Burke (11-7, 3.34 ERA) going against Astros ace Hunter Brown (6-4, 3.19 ERA).
Chicago took advantage of a bullpen game for Houston in Game 1 by jumping out to an early lead and holding on for a 6-3 victory.
The Astros, who've lost their last eight postseason games at home, will need to snap that streak to keep their season alive.
