Many CVS customers may be eligible for money as part of a settlement in a class action lawsuit against the company.
The settlement stems from a lawsuit that alleged CVS violated laws by sharing user data from its website and application with advertising company Criteo.
CVS and Criteo denied any wrongdoing. In a statement, Amy Thibault, a CVS spokesperson, said: "We stand by our privacy practices and believe they comply with applicable laws. The settlement resolves claims based on legal theories that challenge common online industry practices."
The statement also said CVS agreed to the settlement to "avoid expense and distraction of prolonged litigation."
While the settlement is still awaiting final court approval, affected customers can submit their
claims through Nov. 16. Here's what to know.
Who is eligible for money in CVS settlement?
Anyone who accessed cvs.com, cvshealth.com or the CVS mobile app in the United States prior to July 27 is an eligible member of the settlement class, according to the settlement website.
How to file claim in CVS settlement
People who are eligible to file a claim in the settlement can submit their claim online on the settlement website.

Claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by Nov. 16.
How much money can you get from CVS settlement?
Class members who submit an eligible claim form can receive up to $10 from the settlement.
Those who submit a claim without proof of membership – meaning, documentation of their use of the CVS websites or app – can get up to $5. Customers who submit proof can get up to $10.
When will settlement money be sent?
An approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for Dec. 1.
If the settlement is approved, class members who submitted a valid claim will receive their payment 120 days after the settlement has been approved and any appeals process is complete.
Payments can be sent via PayPal, Venmo, Zelle or check, and all checks will expire 180 days after they are issued, per the settlement website.
