"Michael," the film that takes the audience on the rise of the "King of Pop," is making an exclusive streaming debut.
The 2026 Michael Jackson biopic, directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Jaafar Jackson,
the nephew of the music trailblazer, was released on digital streaming platforms for purchase on video-on-demand streaming services in early June. Now, it has an official release date on Starz.
The widely acclaimed film touches on Jackson's beginnings in the Jackson 5 and into his early solo career through the 1970s and 1980s.
"Featuring unforgettable performances from his early solo career and an intimate look at the man behind the music, 'Michael' gives audiences a front-row seat to the icon like never before," Starz said in a press release.

When does 'Michael' drop on Starz?
"Michael" premieres on Starz on Aug. 10. It will be available on the premium network's app and streaming and on-demand platforms.
When will the film premiere on television?
The film will also have a special television debut on the Starz channel on Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. ET.
'Michael' breaks box office records
“Michael” premiered in theaters and IMAX on April 24. The film has earned more than $1 billion at the global box office, making it the first biopic in history to hit that milestone.
In June, "Michael" became the highest-grossing music biopic of all time after outgrossing "Bohemian Rhapsody," the 2018 movie about Freddie Mercury. And when it hit theaters in April, "Michael" had the biggest opening weekend ever for a music biopic.
