In an interview with USA TODAY, Alix Earle and her sister, Ashtin Earle, laugh as they recall their dad having to track down their nude images and keep them from being spread across the internet – and how they later describe this incident in “Earle Meets World,” their new Netflix reality television series that comes out on Sept. 4.
“Oh, that’s in the show? Cool,” Ashtin says sarcastically.
Alix, a social media star who hosts the podcast "Hot Mess," tells USA TODAY that the two of them were on a trip together in Greece and someone hacked Ashtin’s phone, so Alix went into “crisis mode." This situation, she says, is the perfect example of just how close she and her family are.
“Our dad and our lawyers had to get on it,” Ashtin adds. “But thank god
for our dad because he got rid of it.”
At a family dinner depicted in the first episode of the series, their stepmother, Ashley Dupré, asks Alix and Ashtin what they had discussed on the car ride from the airport after they returned from Paris Fashion Week. Turning to her dad (and manager), Alix says they “talked about how you had to rescue our nudes last year.”
Visibly uncomfortable, her father responds, “Oh really? You got into that?” To which the girls respond, “Yeah, we’ve never actually talked about that.”
Alix explains to the table that their dad had to see all of their nude photographs, which he quickly corrected her to say that it wasn’t all of them; rather, he saw enough to verify they were his daughters and plan a course of action. And that’s about the extent of the conversation in the show.
The Netflix series depicts many aspects in the life of the Earle family, including the sisters' breast cancer generic testing results and Alix's feud with fellow podcaster Alex Cooper.
