British actor Noel Clarke has been charged with several sexual offenses in London.
The "Doctor Who" star, 50, is facing two counts of sexual assault, three counts of voyeurism and one count of exposure for alleged incidents involving five women between 2007 and 2016, the Crown Prosecution Service announced in a statement Wednesday, Sept. 9.
"Our prosecutors have worked to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring this case to court and that it is in the public interest to do so," Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London Bethan David said.
London’s Metropolitan Police Service revealed in a separate statement that Clarke was arrested in September 2025 when the investigation began, and CPS authorized the charges after being presented
with "a file of evidence." David also noted the two agencies "have worked closely" throughout the process.
Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney, whose team is leading the investigation, added, “The women connected to these charges continue to receive support from specially trained officers."
“We urge anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault to contact police,” Cagney continued. “The information you provide will be dealt with in the utmost sensitivity, and we have trained investigators on hand to support you.”
Clarke's next court date has been set for Oct. 21.
USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Clarke for comment.
This comes five years after The Guardian published a 2021 exposé on more than 20 women who accused Clarke of sexual misconduct, some of which allegedly occurred on the set of "Doctor Who." Clarke, who denied all allegations, later sued the publication for libel but lost the case in August 2025.
Best known for his role as Mickey Smith in "Doctor Who" from 2005 to 2010, Clarke's most recent appearance came on ITV’s "Viewpoint" in 2021. He previously appeared in "Star Trek Into Darkness," "Bulletproof" and "Kidulthood," which he starred in and wrote.
