Now, it's the Premier League's turn to showcase its talents. Norway's Erling Haaland, who captured hearts across the globe with his friendly antics during the World Cup, takes the pitch for Manchester City. Three Lions standout Bukayo Saka will return for Arsenal.
There are other storied clubs in the Prem, including USMNT captain Christian Pulisic's former club Chelsea and 13-time league champion Manchester United.
For opening weekend starting on Friday, Aug. 21, the Premier League is having watch parties across the United States.The EPL is hoping to capitalize on the newfound excitement in the country.
Who won the Premier League last year?
Arsenal won the Premier League championship last season, the 2025-26 campaign. It was their first league title in 22 years. They captured their fourth trophy after Bournemouth took Manchester City to a draw. Former Arsenal star and current commentator Ian Wright joined in on the celebrations in the streets of London after the club clinched the title.
The Gunners were runners-up for the championship the three years prior. The club last won the Premier League in the 2003-04 season when manager Arsène Wenger led them to a historic unbeaten year that earned the team the title of "The Invincibles." The Gunners also won the Prem during the 2001-02 and 1997-98 campaigns.
Who has won the most Premier League titles?
Manchester United has won a record 13 Premier League titles. The Red Devils won the inaugural championship in the 1992-93 season. They had two three-peat runs and their last trophy came after the 2012-13 campaign.
