Petey Halpin flipped Game 3 of the American League Championship Series around. And then, he flipped his bat to the sky.
Halpin, the 5-11, 200-pound rookie center fielder who likely entered these playoffs as the most unheralded of Guardians regulars, crushed a 2-2 sinker from Tampa Bay Rays starter Griffin Jax 385 feet to right field for a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning, turning a one-run deficit into a 3-2 lead.
Halpin has hit just four homers in his major league career. Yet you might say he knew it was gone.

Halpin watched the ball's flight for a half-second and then twirled his bat to the sky like a majorette before circling the bases as the Progressive Field crowd roared
in relief just an inning after Cleveland squandered a 1-0 lead.
Halpin, 24, splits time in left field with right-handed hitting Angel Martinez. For a moment, he claimed the postseason spotlight all to himself.
