Between the other three Power Four conferences winning national titles over the last decade, the Big 12 can get lost in the shuffle sometimes when comparing the major conferences in college football.
While it's been some time since the conference last won a national title, it regularly produces some of the most fun and exciting football in the country.
That excitement comes typically because the programs in that conference land some of the most under-recruited and exciting high school players in the country on a yearly basis.
This year is no exception as each Big 12 program has landed some hidden gems and a few have landed commitments from some of the best recognized players in the class.
We've taken a look at the ACC and Big Ten, so here's a look at the top
senior commitment for every Big 12 program entering the 2026 high school football season.
Arizona State: Jake Hildebrand
Position: Offensive Tackle
High School: Basha (Chandler, AZ)
247Sports Ranking: No. 88 overall, No. 12 OT
Breakdown: Considered by many in the state as one of the best in-state players for the 2027 class, Hildebrand decided to stay home by committing to the Sun Devils on May 19. The 6-foot-5.5, 311-pounder anchored a Bears offensive line that led them to a state championship and averaged 37 points per game last fall.
Arizona: Ty Johnson
Position: Wide Receiver
High School: Crean Lutheran (Irvine, CA)

Breakdown: Johnson broke onto the national scene during his sophomore season at Lampasas, where he caught 68 passes for 1,046 yards and 12 touchdowns. He committed to the Wildcats on June 23.
Baylor: Karece Hoyt
Position: Athlete
High School: Frisco Lone Star (TX)
247Sports Ranking: No. 241 overall, No. 13 Athlete
Breakdown: Hoyt is one of the more versatile players in the Lone Star State and showed that during his junior campaign. He was at his best rushing the ball, totaling 111 carries for 1,102 yards and 22 touchdowns during a season where he committed to the Bears on October 11.
BYU: Uhila Wolfgramm
Position: EDGE
High School: Maple Mountain (Spanish Fork, UT)
247Sports Ranking: No. 104 overall, No. 13 EDGE
Breakdown: Wolfgramm only played in eight games last season but still recorded 36 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and nine sacks. He announced his commitment to BYU on July 2.
Cincinnati: Ronnie Gomiller
Position: Wide Receiver
High School: East St. Louis (IL)

Breakdown: Gomiller is one of the many offensive threats for the Flyers and he committed to the Bearcats on June 7. Last season he totaled over 1,000 all-purpose yards and scored eight total touchdowns.
Colorado: Li'Marcus Jones
Position: Offensive Tackle
High School: Brentwood Academy (TN)

Breakdown: Deion Sanders and the Colorado coaching staff have quickly built a rising class in the 2027 cycle headlined by Jones. The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder committed to the Buffaloes on May 24.
Houston: Raiden Cook
Position: Defensive Lineman
High School: Barbers Hill (Mont Belvieu, TX)

Breakdown: Cook is coming off of a junior season where he accounted for 39 tackles, 10.5 tackles loss, three forced fumbles and 2.5 sacks in eight games. He announced his commitment to the Cougars on February 2.
Iowa State: Will Slagle
Position: Interior Offensive Lineman
High School: Grinnell (IA)

Breakdown: Slagle opted to stay in his home state when he announced his commitment to the Cyclones on April 17. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 6 prospect in Iowa this cycle.
Kansas: Mason Oglesby
Position: Tight End
High School: New Palestine (IN)
247Sports Ranking: No. 22 TE
Breakdown: The star on one of Indiana’s premier programs of the last decade, Oglesby committed to the Jayhawks on May 22. He played both sides of the ball last season, catching 34 passes for 513 yards and six touchdowns at tight end and 33 tackles, seven tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries at edge.
Kansas State: Joshua Vilmael
Position: Cornerback
High School: Fort Bend Travis (Richmond, TX)
247Sports Ranking: No. 198 overall, No. 23 CB
Breakdown: The Wildcats went into Texas and landed a commitment from Vilmael on June 15. A tall and rangy cornerback, he recorded two interceptions, seven pass breakups and four blocked kicks during his junior year.
Oklahoma State: Israel Hammons
Position: Linebacker
High School: Choctaw (OK)

Breakdown: It’s been a few cycles since the Cowboys had a commitment ranked as highly as Hammons. The in-state linebacker committed to Oklahoma State on June 19 and plays on both sides of the ball at Choctaw.
TCU: Daniel Yebit
Position: Cornerback
High School: Yukon (OK)
247Sports Ranking: No. 130 overall, No. 14 CB
Breakdown: The Horned Frogs are getting a two-way standout in Yebit, who committed to the program on June 17. Offensively, he caught 43 passes for 760 yards and six touchdowns last season while also recording 37 tackles, four interceptions and three tackles for loss on defense.
Texas Tech: Jalen Brewster
Position: Defensive Lineman
High School: Cedar Hill (TX)
247Sports Ranking: No. 5 overall, No. 1 DL
Breakdown: The top defensive lineman in his class, Texas Tech has had to fend off several other programs to keep Brewster home since his commitment last October. Standing at 6-foot-3 and just over 300 pounds, he plays and appears like an NFL defensive lineman already.
UCF: Kaneilius Purdy
Position: Athlete
High School: Lake Wales (FL)
247Sports Ranking: No. 34 Athlete
Breakdown: Purdy's been a consistent receiving threat since he first began playing high school football, finishing with more than 600 yards and 10 or more touchdowns each of the last three seasons. He committed to UCF on May 31.
Utah: Jaxton Itaaehau
Position: Athlete
High School: Davis (Kaysville, UT)
247Sports Ranking: No. 17 Athlete
Breakdown: Itaaehau committed to the in-state Utes on June 24. A standout on both sides of the ball, he was at his best as a receiver catching 71 passes for 951 yards and 11 touchdowns last season.
West Virginia: Ethan Lawson
Position: Interior Offensive Lineman
High School: Rye Cove (Duffield, VA)
247Sports Ranking: No. 239 overall, No. 16 IOL
Breakdown: Lawson had one of the more viral commitments when he announced his pledge to the Mountaineers on June 2. At the time, he was West Virginia's 14th commitment in its 2027 class.
