Two wildfires have burned a collective 900 acres in Miami-Dade County, according to the Florida Forest Service.
The 41-31 Mile Marker Fire, located in the western portion of the county, burned 200 acres and was 75% contained as of Aug. 20 at 11:37 a.m. The Radio Tower Fire had burned 700 acres west of Kendall as of Aug. 20 at 10:44 a.m., and was 97% contained.

Since the beginning of the year, 49,608 fires have burned more than 7.5 million acres nationwide, according to the National Interagency Fire Center. In Florida alone, more than 2,800 wildfires have started since January, cumulatively burning over 195,000 acres.
According to an outlook by the National Interagency Fire Center, which "identifies areas by month for the next four months with above,
below, and near normal significant fire potential," South Florida will see "above" normal significant wildland fire potential in August.
