European rivals hoping Spain would feel a World Cup hangover after winning the tournament in the summer of 2026 will not be feeling great.
Lamine Yamal scored in the second minute of Spain's UEFA Nations League match against England, putting La Roja ahead at Wembley Stadium and picking up where the team left off after a 1-0 win over Argentina in the World Cup final.
Yamal won the ball off of England center back Marc Guéhi and didn't have that much to do to get into the box. Once there, he put his finish around Three Lions goalkeeper James Trafford, with the ball bouncing off the post and in for a dream start for Spain.

Spain has not tasted defeat
in 90 minutes since a March 2024 friendly match against Colombia, though Iberian neighbors Portugal got the better of Luis de la Fuente's side in the final of the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw.
Now, Spain is hoping to add that trophy to its case, already holding the World Cup and the Euros. The 19-year-old superstar has them off to a sterling start.
