As part of the pregame festivities ahead of Game 1 of the 2026 World Series, featuring the Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays, Mickey Guyton will deliver her rendition of the national anthem.
Guyton, a country singer and songwriter from Arlington, Texas, first participated in Season 7 of the popular show "American Idol" in 2008. Her journey ended during the Hollywood rounds, and she did not advance to the live top 24. Years later, she returned to the "American Idol" stage as a celebrated guest performer during Season 19.
Guyton then went on to sign with Capitol Records Nashville in 2011 and released her self-titled debut EP in 2015, which included her single, "Better Than You Left Me." Her major breakthrough arrived in 2020 with the release of
"Black Like Me," a song that earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Country Solo Performance.
Her most recent album, "House on Fire," was released in 2024, and later this year, she will embark on a nationwide Holiday Tour, performing in cities across the country throughout November and December.
This isn’t the first major stage for Guyton; she previously performed "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the 2022 Super Bowl.
Guyton is scheduled to perform the national anthem at 7 p.m. ET at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, ahead of the first pitch of Game 1.
