Just when you thought he was out, Tom Hardy is back in at "MobLand."
Paramount+ has renewed the crime drama series for a third season, and Hardy is officially set to return in his role as fixer Harry Da Souza.
A Season 3 renewal announcement, released on Sept. 3, listed Hardy as part of the cast alongside returning stars Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren. The show, which debuted in 2025, centers on clashing mob families and stars Brosnan and Mirren as Harrigan crime family patriarch and matriarch Conrad and Maeve, respectively.
The confirmation of Hardy's return comes after multiple reports suggested he might be leaving the show.
In May, Variety reported that the "Venom" actor would not return to "MobLand" for Season 3 due to alleged "onset issues"
with executive producer Jez Butterworth and others, while Deadline similarly said Hardy was exiting after "friction" with Butterworth. The Hollywood Reporter also reported on Hardy's alleged "clashes with producers," though the outlet only said at the time that the actor's future with the series was "in limbo."
Mirren defended Hardy soon after the reports emerged, saying at the Taormina Film Festival in June that she expected he'd be back for Season 3. She also said she'd work with Hardy again in a "heartbeat," while noting he has a different process than other actors.
"I love Tom," Mirren said, according to Deadline. "I think he's the most amazing actor. I've always loved him on screen and different actors have different processes. I've learned over the years that some people get things fast and other people took time."
She continued, "As long as what's on the screen is fantastic, I'm totally chilled with whatever, however anyone gets there. Tom is a very special person. He's got the kindest heart … I think he's absolutely remarkable. So my support of him is genuine and heartfelt."
The "MobLand" Season 3 renewal comes just over two weeks before the series returns for its second season on Friday, Sept. 18.
In Season 2, "the Harrigans struggle to show a unified front as rising rivals threaten their fractured criminal empire – and Harry Da Souza, their street-smart and formidable 'fixer,' must walk a dangerous tightrope when tensions within the family intensify," the logline says.
"As violence spills into every corner of their lives, loyalties snap, safety proves temporary, and the battle for power leaves no room for mercy."
The Season 2 cast of "MobLand" also includes Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Teddie Allen, Emmett J. Scanlan, Johnny Flynn, Ophelia Lovibond, Janet McTeer, and Toby Jones. The second season will consist of 10 episodes, which will air weekly through Nov 20.
