If you were a Lands' End customer in 2024, you could be leaving money on the table in a proposed class action settlement.
Here's everything you need to know about the settlement, how to claim and how much money you could get.
Was I impacted in the Land's End data incident? How to tell
According to the Lands' End settlement webpage, customers in December 2024 may have had their personal information compromised in a data incident.
If you were identified in Lands' End's records, you may have already received notice of the settlement via mail in June.
To check you Class Member status, you can also email info@LandsEndDataSettlement.com or call 833.421.7243.
How much money can I get from Lands' End settlement?
Claimants have two options when submitting to the Lands' End settlement:
Cash Payment A - up to $5,000 with documented losses
This claim is dependent on "reasonable
documentation of out-of-pocket or monetary losses that are fairly traceable to the Data Incident," according to settlement documents.
These losses include things like postage, mileage, the freezing or unfreezing of credit reports, etc. that occurred on or before Dec. 6, 2024.
These losses must not have been reimbursed yet by another source or third party.
Claimants are also eligible for two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete and $1 million of financial fraud insurance.
Cash Payment B - fixed $60
This alternate cash option requires no documentation.
If a claimant files for Cash Payment A and fails to provide reasonable documentation, the claim is rejected or the claimant does not cure their claim, they will be treated as if they selected Cash Payment B
When do I have to claim Lands' End class action settlement?
The claim deadline is October 22.
Online claims (found here) must be submitted by that date, and mailed claims must be postmarked for that date.
Can I opt out of the Lands' End settlement?
Yes, but the deadline is soon.
You may opt out of the settlement by October 7.
If you opt out, you will be able to sue, participate in another lawsuit or continue legal actions.
What happens if I do nothing in the Lands' End settlement?
Doing nothing will forfeit your benefit payments, keep you in the settlement class and give up your rights to sue or participate in any future lawsuits related to the settlement.
