The defending HBCU national champion remains in the top spot of Week 2 of the HBCU Football Coaches poll.
South Carolina State is No. 1 in the new BOXTOROW HBCU FCS Coaches Pollreleased on Monday, Sept. 14, as the Bulldogs continue rolling. It easily handled Division II Virginia State 66-0 for its 11th-straight win and second shutout this season. The Bulldogs received all 17 first-place votes in a top five that mostly stays the same, with Alabama State remaining second following its loss to FBS Troy.
There is movement in the bottom half, most notably with Alabama A&M jumping into the No. 9 spot after defeating Tennessee State for its second victory of the season. The Bulldogs join the top 10 while Texas Southern falls out after it lost to UTEP
to move to 1-2 on the season.
