The Atlanta Falcons season is right around the corner, and with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa slated to start the team's week 1 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers over Michael Penix Jr., who is returning from injury, it's unclear how the rest of the season could shake out.
But one company is betting on success inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium, not just for the Falcons but also for Atlanta United which calls the stadium home.
Papa Johns announced a new partnership with the stadium and with the city of Atlanta to offer promotional deals or discounts when the Falcons or Atlanta United win a game inside Mercedes-Benz. Here's what to know.
Half-priced Papa Johns after Falcons, United wins
"Few cities bring the energy, pride and passion that Atlanta does. With one of the Papa Johns Restaurant Support Centers
based here, we're excited to deepen our connection to the community through two teams that mean so much to Atlanta fans," Chris Lyn-Sue, Papa Johns' Global Chief Marketing Officer, said in a statement announcing the partnership on Sept. 8.
Fans in the Atlanta metro will be able to order regular menu-priced pizzas for 50% off after every Falcons or Atlanta United win this fall.
Fans can claim the promotion using the code GAWINS in the Papa Johns app, online at papajohns.com, or in person at Papa Johns locations across the Atlanta metro area.
Atlanta locals hoping to capitalize on Atlanta United's "First Match On Us" program, which provides free tickets to anyone who lives in the Atlanta area and would like to attend their first ever Atlanta United match, will also get a $10 Papa Johns credit with their free ticket.
The partnership will kick off with the Dirty Birds Rally outside Mercedes-Benz ahead of the Atlanta Falcons' first home game on Friday, Sept. 18. A Papa Johns booth will offer exclusive merchandise, gift cards and more.
Papa Johns moves global headquarters to Atlanta
Papa Johns moved the company's global headquarters to Atlanta in 2020, shortly after Area Development magazine named Georgia the top state for doing business for the seventh consecutive year.
The company already had a strong corporate presence in the city, but has since expanded and employs 2,500 Georgians, as well as workers around the world at 5,300 global locations.
There are six Papa Johns locations that share a zip code with Mercedes-Benz Stadium where the $10 credit could be used or a half-priced pizza ordered.
