Seven months later, they meet again.
The NFL season opens Wednesday night in Seattle with a rematch of Super Bowl LX, when the Seahawks overwhelmed the Patriots 29-13 behind a defense that made Drake Maye uncomfortable from beginning to end. Seattle sacked Maye six times in the title game and returns most of a defense that allowed an NFL-low 17.2 points per game last season.
New England upgraded the offense by adding receivers A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs, but keeping Maye upright will be critical. Rhamondre Stevenson will be the featured back with TreVeyon Henderson ruled out with an ankle injury. Seattle underwent some changes as well, losing offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak to the head coaching job with the Raiders.
Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker
III left in free agency to join the Chiefs and Zach Charbonnet will open the year on injured reserve, putting rookie first-round pick Jadarian Price in line to lead the backfield. Sure, some of the faces have changed, but Mike Vrabel, Maye and the many returning Patriots won't need any reminder of how the 2025 campaign ended as they watch the Seahawks raise their banner. They lived it. And they'll get the first opportunity to show how much has changed.

Patriots vs. Seahawks picks against the spread
Adam Kaufman: Patriots +3.5
The Patriots were 13-7-1 ATS overall last season and, historically, Mike Vrabel teams tend to hang around as underdogs. Seattle is an incredibly difficult place to play and the Seahawks should win this game, but I like the Pats to hang around and keep things interesting after getting embarrassed in the Super Bowl and improving their weaponry and depth in the offseason.
Tom Viera: Seahawks -3.5
The Seahawks defense ranked first in FTN's DVOA last season and will pick right up where it left off-blowing out New England. No Super Bowl hangover for this elite group as the Pats come into one of the hardest stadiums for a road team.
Richard Morin: Patriots +3.5
With Christian Gonzalez putting pen to paper, the New England defense will be difficult to navigate. While I'm not sure the Patriots come out on top, I like them to keep it within a field goal.
