Lady Whistledown isn’t the only one with news. Netflix and Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland revealed another “Bridgerton” spinoff is in the works.
According to the Oct. 8 announcement, the new limited series, which is yet to be titled, will center on “the early life of a young Lady Violet and tell the story of her romance with Viscount Edmund Bridgerton.” The couple, played by Ruth Gemmell and Rupert Evans in the original, wed and welcomed the Bridgerton brood of eight children.
Season 1 of “Bridgerton,” a series inspired by Julia Quinn’s Regency romance novels, exploded onto the streaming service in 2020. Season 5, chronicling the romance between Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) and Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza), is currently filming in London.
Netflix has already renewed the drama for a sixth installment.

The untitled spinoff is the second for the series. The six-part “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story,” released in 2023, traces Charlotte’s (India Amarteifio and Golda Rosheuvel) relationship with King George (Corey Mylchreest and James Fleet).
