A new Marshalls store could soon be opening near you.
Ernie Herrman, CEO of Marshalls parent company TJX Companies, announced in May 2024 a goal of opening at least 1,300 additional locations globally across the TJX portfolio of stores, which also includes T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, Sierra and HomeSense.

The company said in its second-quarter earnings report in August 2026 that it owned and operated 1,267 Marshalls stores in the U.S. and an additional 112 in Canada.

Massachusetts in 1977, according to the TJX website, and the company acquired Marshalls in 1995. At the time, Marshalls was the second-largest off-price retailer in the United States with 496 stores.
