The New York Jets worked out veteran kicker Justin Tucker on Wednesday, Aug. 2, according to multiple reports.
Tucker was part of a workout group that also included veteran kickers Michael Badgley and Josh Karty. None were immediately signed by the Jets following the session.
Tucker last kicked in the NFL during the 2024 season. He made just 22 of 30 field goal attempts for the Baltimore Ravens, good for a career-low field goal rate of 73.3%.
Tucker was released during the 2025 offseason amid an NFL investigation into accusations of sexual misconduct against the kicker at the time of his release. He has denied the allegations, calling them "simply not true."
The Jets are the latest team to try out Tucker since his release. The 36-year-old also tried
out with the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts but couldn't land a job with either team.
Tucker will be hoping things can be different in New York. The Jets currently have two kickers in their organization: Blake Grupe, who they claimed off waivers from the Colts, and Jason Sanders, a 2020 All-Pro who signed to the practice squad after struggling during the preseason.
Tucker has made 89.1% of his career field goal attempts, including 64 of 96 (66.7%) from 50-plus yards. The Texas product is widely regarded as one of the best kickers of all time, as his field goal percentage ranks third-best in NFL history behind only Cameron Dicker (93.5%) and Eddy Pineiro (89.7%).
