Pass Go, grab some fries and keep an eye out for Boardwalk – Monopoly is returning to McDonald's for a limited time.
The fast food giant announced Sept. 22 the fan-favorite promotion is returning to menus nationwide starting Tuesday, Oct. 6 with a "simplified experience and one-of-a-kind prize list."
"This year, we’re going all in on the classic peel – what first made MONOPOLY at McDonald’s so iconic," the company said in a news release. "With all the pieces in your hands, fans will now have just one way to peel, with all gameplay done in the app."
Players can peel the game pieces, then scan in the app to cash in instant-win food or loyalty points or play for the biggest prizes, like a $1 million cash prize, a 2027 Jeep Cherokee or free McDonald's
for a year via a $1,040 McDonald's gift card.
The Monopoly promotion returned to McDonald's last year after a decade-long absence.
How to play McDonald's Monopoly
Signing up to play the game, just like following the game’s rules, is pretty simple. All you have to do is follow a few steps:
- Register: Download the McDonald's App, opt in to Rewards and pre-register for the game.
- Order + Peel: Starting Oct. 6, order eligible menu items and peel the game piece sticker on your McDonald's packaging. Every piece is on McDonald's packaging, so get peeling!
- Scan: Scan your game piece in the McDonald's App to redeem prizes, properties or Chance Card Game instant win plays.
Players can also get a bonus Chance Card Gameplay in the McDonald's App for each eligible item purchased via the app or by showing your Rewards code at the kiosk, counter and drive-thru until Nov. 1, but only if you have registered before ordering, according to McDonald's.

The following menu items are eligible for the Monopoly promotion at McDonald's:
Breakfast
- Hash Browns
- McMuffin sandwiches
- Biscuit sandwiches
Breakfast / Rest-of-Day
- Large soft drink, iced coffee, iced tea or specialty McCafé beverage
- Large hot McCafé beverage
Rest-of-Day
- Large French fries
- 10-piece Chicken McNuggets
- Quarter Pounder with Cheese
- Big Mac
- 4-piece McCrispy Strips
Which prizes can I win by playing Monopoly?
Fans can peel to reveal four different prize opportunities, according to the chain:
- Instant-Win Food: Free McDonald's food like the McChicken, Snack Wrap, McGriddles, shakes and smoothies, small fries and more.
- Instant-Win Loyalty Points: Anywhere from 1,500 to 7,000 MyMcDonald's Reward points.
- Collect to Win: Collect a winning combination of property pieces to win an epic getaway like a Carnival Cruise vacation or a trip to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. You could also win a 2027 Jeep Cherokee, a choice of one of three vehicles from Polaris and more.
- Chance Card: Play the Chance Card Game for your shot to win – from gift cards from brands like Grubhub, Ulta Beauty, Uber Eats and more, to pivotal wins such as $50,000 toward a home down payment, $50,000 toward college debt paydown, and cash prizes ranging from $10,000 to $1 million.
