Ozzie Albies is doing his part to make sure the Atlanta Braves win the NL wild-card series over division rival the Philadelphia Phillies. In the bottom of the fourth inning of Game 3 of the series on Thursday, Oct. 1, he hit a two-run home run.
The switch-hitter approached the plate to swing left-handed. After getting a strike from Zack Wheeler, Albies took a pitch down the middle of the plate, swung hard and blasted the ball into right field.
The crowd at Truist Park knew it was gone as soon as he made contact and erupted in celebration. Albies let out a yell and lifted his arm with a finger pointed up as he rounded the bases. The hit was his fourth career postseason home run. Austin Riley, who was walked, also scored, giving the Braves a 5-0
lead.
