Philadelphia's iconic Rocky Statue is heading back to a permanent spot outside of the art museum, but the placement won't be exactly the same.

Instead, this month, crews are working to permanently install the statue, an homage to the iconic Sylvester Stallone "Rocky" franchise, at the top of the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps, rather than the bottom.

The move was approved in January 2025, according to Creative Philadelphia, and the statue just wrapped up a stint inside the museum as a feature of the "Rising Up" exhibit.

Yes, you can still technically see the statue on the art museum steps, but it will be behind barriers with limited access to the public as construction begins.
