The Philadelphia Eagles' wings have been clipped in 2026.
It has been a nightmare season in the "City of Brotherly Love," as injuries and plenty of other factors have taken center stage. The coaching staff's job security has come into question as a result, but nothing is more up in the air than Jalen Hurts' return timeline.
The quarterback is likely sidelined for the remainder of the season with blood clots
.In the midst of all that, the Eagles are spiraling on the field at 2-5. They remain longshots at best to win the NFC East and the window to contend is seemingly almost shut. With some quality but aging veterans left on the roster, it begs the question – are the Eagles going to be sellers at the NFL trade deadline? Should they be?
The answers
to those questions will be provided soon enough. For now, here's a look at five Eagles who could be trade candidates this November.
Eagles trade candidates
RB Saquon Barkley
Barkley is easily the biggest name who could be booking a one-way flight out of Philadelphia prior to the trade deadline. The 29-year-old has played in five games, but injuries have been an issue all year for the veteran. Barkley, as he showed early in Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys, still looks like a game-changing player when healthy.
Whether he can maintain that is the real question in any deal. There is also a cap concern to think about for Philly. The Eagles would take on $26.4 million in dead cap next season if Barkley was traded. If the team is headed towards a rebuild though, that might not be as big of a deal. Money aside, running back-needy teams shouldn't be shy about lining up for the star if he's available.
WR Hollywood Brown
Brown was signed to be a depth piece at receiver in the offseason. He has been a complete non-factor for the Eagles, playing in just two games. The receiver has recorded two carries for 12 yards and two catches for 30 yards in limited action. A trade makes sense for both sides, especially with the 29-year-old playing on a one-year deal.
The Eagles would take on a $3 million dead cap charge, but they could potentially get a late-round pick in return for the veteran with no shortage of teams needing receiver depth.
TE Dallas Goedert
The 31-year-old is set to be a free agent after the 2026 season and it seems like there is going to be a changing of the guard at the position in Philly. The organization invested a second-round pick in Eli Stowers during the 2026 NFL Draft, making it likely that he eventually takes over. If the Eagles are headed towards a rebuild, it would make sense to start turning over the core and giving opportunities to the younger players.
A Goedert trade would result in a dead cap charge of $18.3 million next season. Tight ends aren't typically in demand around the trade deadline, but that doesn't mean a team wouldn't come calling for a player like Goedert.
DL Moro Ojomo
On the surface, trading a quality 25-year-old defensive tackle doesn't seem like good business. However, Ojomo is in the final year of his contract and could be headed for free agency. The Eagles have already paid Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis, making it appear unlikely that the team would want to allocate more money to that position group.
The team could capitalize on Ojomo's breakout 2025 season in which totaled six sacks. Potentially Philly's most valuable trade asset, Ojomo could be acquired as a rental or by a team that envisions him as a long-term piece.
CB Riq Woolen
Woolen is another player on an expiring contract, meaning he could be someone a contender covets. Any team in need of secondary help should come calling for a player that doesn't require a commitment beyond this season. Philly would take on a $8.6 million dead cap hit in 2027, but could also explore a reunion with the 27-year-old down the road if it wants.
The Eagles would be wise to take advantage of the market and recoup whatever they can for a corner with Woolen's combination of size and speed.
Should the Eagles be sellers?
The Eagles should be sellers at the trade deadline with the hope that it accelerates the team into its next window to contend.
That is the reality of a season that began with some promise and later developed into a disaster. It has left the franchise at a crossroads. And for a team that is only two seasons removed from winning Super Bowl 59, it's only natural to wonder how they got here.
Injuries are the main thing. Hurts is likely set to miss the rest of the season with blood clots. Barkley has missed time along with DeVonta Smith and the team's big offseason acquisition, Jonathan Greenard.
Other exits have been notable too. A.J. Brown was traded to the New England Patriots, Kevin Patullo was fired as the offensive coordinator and those were just the offseason moves.
Lane Johnson shocked the football world by retiring in early October, declining to finish what was going to be likely his final season in the league.
On the field, second half collapses have been the norm. The Eagles are averaging a league-low 5.3 points per game in the second half.
In other words, there isn't just one issue. It's not as simple as packing it up and hoping for better health next season.
The window has closed on this version of the Eagles. Now the general manager, Howie Roseman, has to turn the page.
When is the 2026 NFL trade deadline?
- Date: Nov. 10
- Time: 4 p.m. ET
The 2026 NFL trade deadline is set for Nov. 10, with 4 p.m. ET being the official cutoff. It's the last opportunity for teams to make major changes to their rosters ahead of the season's stretch run, leaving waivers and free agency as the last two avenues to improve before the offseason.
