If you wanna party, Taylor Swift knows where to spend a Saturday night: Studio 8H.
The "Patient Zero" singer returned to the famed 30 Rock stage on Oct. 3, popping up during "Saturday Night Live" host Dakota Johnson's opening monologue.
Johnson recounted her dating history, joking that she had endured "two very public, very lame breakups with two very awesome musicians" and was "looking for a third." After the actress described her friends as supportive and non-judgmental, Swift walked out.
"Ladies and gentlemen, my literary therapist," Johnson said.
"I'm not a licensed therapist, actually," Swift said. "You just show up once a week at my house with an empty bottle of wine and ask if I want some."
"Yeah, well, I have manners," Johnson replied.

Swift, wearing an off-the-shoulder gray plaid dress with a draped bodice and thin chain belt, added: "And then you flop on my couch and overshare, and every so often, I just say, 'Damn, that's crazy.' "
"Is that not a therapist?" Johnson asked.
Swift said she eventually tells Johnson it's getting late and she should go to bed.
"Sleepover, yay!" Johnson replied.
A big week for Taylor Swift fans: From the VMAs to 'SNL'
The appearance came during Dakota Johnson's third turn as host of the long-running NBC show, with Turnstile as musical guest.
It was also Swift's second appearance with Johnson, a longtime friend, in less than a week. Johnson starred opposite Colin Farrell in Swift's "Patient Zero" music video, which premiered Sept. 27 at the MTV Video Music Awards. Johnson introduced Swift at the ceremony, where the singer and songwriter received the inaugural Artist Director Honors award before debuting the video.
The date itself carries a Swift signature. Oct. 3, or 10/3, is a "13" day, when the month and day add up to the singer's favorite number. Swift has often timed announcements to those dates.
Swift hinted at her "SNL" appearance weeks earlier when she joined Mariska Hargitay in a pretaped "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" parody at the Emmys. The sketch followed a team of detectives trying to determine whether the singer would attend the awards ceremony.
"I think what we're going to be looking for is hiding in plain sight," Swift said.
Among the evidence were several paths to Studio 8H: "Welcome to New York" became "Live from New York," an "SNL" photo was pinned to the case board and a Post-it asked, "Musical guest − Sting?"
When has Taylor Swift previously appeared on 'SNL'?
Swift was 19 when she first appeared on "SNL."
In January 2009, the rising country star made her "Saturday Night Live" debut performing "Love Story" and "Forever & Always." By November, she was back to pull double duty as host and musical guest. That night, she delivered her now-iconic "Monologue Song," cheekily turning tabloid fodder into punchlines as she sang about her exes, her reputation and Kanye West's infamous VMA interruption.
Swift joined the 40th anniversary special in 2015 with a surprise cameo in "The Californians," the show's absurd soap-opera spoof. Two years later, she returned as musical guest, performing "… Ready for It?" and an acoustic "Call It What You Want," introduced by Tiffany Haddish.
In 2019, she performed the title track from "Lover" and a saxophone-backed rendition of "False God."
Two years later, she performed the 10-minute version of "All Too Well" and also popped up in the sketch "Three Sad Virgins." Swift roasted Ben Marshall as "a sad Ron Weasley," John Higgins as "a scarecrow with no sex appeal" and Martin Herlihy as a "big ass bowling ball head."
And she made a cameo in 2023 to introduce her friend Ice Spice's musical performance.
