Todd Chrisley is getting candid about his daughter Savannah Chrisley's pregnancy and engagement.
Two days after Savannah announcedshe is both engaged and pregnant with her first child, her parents Todd and Julie Chrisley opened up about the news in an Oct. 29 appearanceon Bunnie Xo's "Dumb Blonde" podcast.
"Let's just say this, she did very well with what she has done," Todd said.
Savannah announced her pregnancy and engagement on social media Oct. 27.
"Just when I thought my heart couldn’t hold any more love, God gave us our sweetest blessing yet… we’re having a BABY!" she wrote on Instagram.
The 29-year-old has kept her relationship with her now-fiancé private, only identifying him by first name Jason. People and Us Magazine reported he is Jason Galanis,
a 56-year-old businessman.
But the Chrisley family patriarch revealed that he didn't initially approve of the age gap. Here's what he said.
Todd Chrisley: Savannah Chrisley's age gap with fiancé 'not something that I embraced'
Todd Chrisley confirmed that Savannah's fiancé is about 20 years older than her.
"It was not something that I embraced," he said, to which Julie Chrisley replied, "Not at all."
Todd continued, "I mean, to the point that I had a choice to make. It was either embrace my daughter's decision or lose my daughter."
While saying he did not "advocate for this," Todd added that "nothing is ever coming between me and my daughter."
"But I will tell you that there's a lot of – he has treated her with the utmost of respect," he said.
The 57-year-old later quipped about being around the same age as his future son-in-law.
"I say that, you know, she'll have 20 years with him and I'll retire with him in the assisted living," he said.
He also described his daughter as "an old soul" who "was never going to be with somebody younger." She was previously engaged to Nic Kerdiles, who she split from in 2020. Kerdiles died in a motorcycle crash in 2023 at the age of 29.
Todd Chrisley reveals his reaction to finding out about Savannah Chrisley's pregnancy
Savannah Chrisley revealed on her podcast that she is currently almost 21 weeks pregnant. She said she found out she was pregnant amid a journey with in vitro fertilization, an assisted reproductive process where eggs and sperm are combined in a lab to create an embryo.
About a month after undergoing the egg retrieval process, she said she unexpectedly found out she was pregnant while on vacation.
"That test came back within like 10 seconds. Two bright pink lines. And I was like, 'Stop it. No.' There was no way," she said.
Todd said on Bunnie Xo's podcast that Savannah FaceTimed her parents from vacation to tell them the news.
"She said, 'Well, I want to tell you something, but I don't want you to be mad.' I said, 'I'm not going to be mad. What is it?'" Todd recalled of the phone call. "And she goes, 'I'm pregnant.'"
"I just screamed," Todd continued. "Because here she had struggled so hard to do this egg retrieval, embryo and all this. She had struggled so hard to do that and here she got pregnant on her own."
Who is Savannah Chrisley's fiancé Jason Galanis?
Jason Galanis is a businessman who was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison in 2020 for multiple fraud schemes, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. President Donald Trump granted him clemencyin March 2025.
Similarly, Todd and Julie Chrisley were also previously in prison after being convicted of bank and tax fraud charges. The couple denied wrongdoing, and after more than two years behind bars, on May 27, 2025, Trump issued the pair full pardons and they were released.
Seemingly alluding to Galanis having a checkered past, Todd said, "There's some infamy there."
"(He) went through a very difficult time in his life, and that's their story to tell," he said.
Todd also said Savannah's fiancé does not have any kids but has been divorced "for many years."
"He's brilliant and she is emotionally set for life, but she's financially set for life," he said.
