Jason Kelce is probably hoping his brother and sister-in-law weren't tuned into his "Monday Night Football" coverage ahead of the Week 7 finale.
Before the Philadelphia Eagles hosted the Dallas Cowboys in prime time, Kelce attended two Eagles fans' wedding in a parking lot outside of Lincoln Financial Field. ESPN showed some clips from the wedding during their "Monday Night Countdown" programming ahead of the game, and Kelce joked that the nuptials might have been the best he's been to this year.
"Eagles fans galore. Probably the most legendary wedding I've been to this season – this year. This year, maybe," Kelce said.
"Monday Night Countdown" host Scott Van Pelt asked skeptically if it was really the "most legendary wedding of the year," and
Kelce joked he might have to reconsider.
"All right, I might have to walk it back a little. Second. I'll put it second," Kelce said.
What would come in front of it for the Eagles' icon and former 13-year veteran center? That award most likely goes to his brother, Travis Kelce, getting married to superstar musician Taylor Swift over the summer.
Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs' tight end hosted their wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City over Fourth of July weekend. Reports from the event indicate that more than 1,000 were invited as guests to the ceremony at the New York Knicks' home arena.
Compared to that, the second-most legendary wedding of the year isn't so bad for the Eagles fans who wed at a tailgate outside of The Linc. As for why Jason Kelce showed up, Front Office Sports reported that the couple won a sweepstakes put on by the Kelce brothers' Garage Beer brand.
The Eagles went on to lose the "Monday Night Football" game to the Cowboys 38-21.
