Amazon shoppers who had issues with their refunds over an almost 9-year period may be eligible to claim payment from a class action settlement, and the deadline is coming up soon.

This settlement is related to alleged refunding issues from Sept. 5, 2017 to Feb. 12, 2026.
Plaintiffs in the case allege that Amazon's return policies and other practices violated consumer protections, which the company denies.
Am I eligible for Amazon class action settlement?
Shoppers that requested a refund or initiated a return on a physical product through Amazon between Sept. 5, 2017 to Feb. 12, 2026 may be included in the suit's settlement class.
You're eligible to claim if you received your
refund and were then incorrectly charged, if you did not receive a refund or if you received an incorrect or untimely refund.
Settlement Class members will fall into two subclasses, A and B.
Settlement Subclass A - Includes various transactions eligible for full refunds and interest payments.
Settlement Subclass B - Transactions other than those included in Subclass A; Members must submit a claim to show that their transactions "more likely than not" fit into the settlement class.

Do I have to file a claim to get paid from Amazon settlement?
Settlement Subclass A - Will automatically receive a payment, though they'll need to visit the settlement to choose a payment method 105 days after the court delivers final approval for the case.
Settlement Subclass B - Will need to submit a claim by Dec. 1.
How much is the Amazon settlement?
The amount if your payout will depend on what settlement class you fall into and how many people file claims.
According to court documents, the settlement fund in the case is $309.5 million.
Settlement Subclass A will have their payments made from a common fund, worth 92.7% of the Net Settlement Fund. The payments will be for "unpaid transaction amounts plus an amount proportional to potential pre-judgement interest at issue."
Settlement Subclass B will have their payments made from a common fund, worth 7.3% of the Net Settlement Fund. The payments will be for "unpaid transaction amounts plus an amount proportional to potential pre-judgement interest at issue."

When will I get paid from Amazon class action settlement?
Payments will be delivered following the settlement's closure.
An approval hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on March 16, 2027.
