A pair of white-faced whistling ducks at Oakland Zoo were seen cozying up to each other in sweet footage posted by the zoo on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
The video features two of the zoo’s three ducks, Lindy and Harrier. Alongside the footage, the zoo wrote on X, “Would you still love me if we were white-faced whistling ducks?”
According to the zoo’s website, the third duck is named Susan. Lindy hatched in 2009, making her the oldest of the trio, while Susan and Harrier both hatched in 2015.
The zoo’s website also notes that white-faced whistling duck pairs keep their bond strong through mutual preening, even during the non-breeding season, as seen in the footage.
