On the first day of early voting in Georgia, the two candidates at the top of the ballot are hitting the debate stage for the second time.
Incumbent Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff and Republican House Rep. Mike Collins are in a battle for the U.S. Senate seat, one that could help determine control of Congress going into the second half of Trump's second term.
Ossoff is the only incumbent Democratic senator running in a state Trump won in 2024, but he has outperformed Collins in polls throughout the summer and has earned endorsements from across the political spectrum.
But, Collins has the Trump endorsement and has been running on supporting the president in his war in Iran, his strong push on immigration (Collins authored the Laken Riley Act) and has said
the high prices across the country are a result of Democratic initiatives and the Green New Deal.
Collins and Ossoff took the debate stage for the first time last week with Atlanta News First, fielding questions on topics like affordability, healthcare, congressional experience and more.
The debate quickly spiraled into attacks between the candidates — and now they are going in for round two.
