Sean "Diddy" Combs is on track to be a free man sooner than expected.
The former music mogul, 56, is now set to be released from New Jersey's FCI Fort Dix, where he is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence, on Feb. 5, 2028, according to the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons' inmate records viewed by USA TODAY on Thursday, Sept. 3.
Combs, who denies all allegations of sexual misconduct, has had his release change multiple times since he was sentenced to over four years behind bars in October for his July 2025 conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
USA TODAY has reached out to Combs' lawyer for comment.

Combs was initially scheduled to be released on May 8, 2028, but that was pushed back a month in November amid reports
that he created and consumed alcohol in prison, which his representative denied at the time.
Earlier this year, the date was moved up to April 25, 2028, then again to Feb. 23, 2028 and later to Jan. 24, 2028. However, Combs saw a major delay to Feb. 20, 2028, in August due to a reported prison fight that landed the rapper in solitary confinement.
An inmate's release date can shift for a variety of reasons, including good behavior, time served and participation in Evidence-Based Recidivism Reduction or Productive Activities.
What is Diddy in prison for?
The Bad Boy Records founder has been trying to appeal his conviction ever since a jury found him guilty of transporting several women – including two former girlfriends Casandra "Cassie" Ventura Fine and an anonymous "Jane," along with sex workers – for the purpose of paid sexual encounters.
Ahead of his initial sentencing last year, Combs wrote a letter to the judge stating he got sober "for the first time in 25 years," had been attending therapy and started a mentorship program for his fellow inmates. He also still faces upwards of 70 civil lawsuits across the country, with the most recent filed in June by a former child actor.
