"NCIS" is ushering in a new era.
Season 24 of the long-running CBS crime drama will premiere Tuesday, Oct. 6, months after the show left viewers on a dramatic cliffhanger.
The premiere will pick up right where Season 23 left off, with Special Agent Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) in the middle of a standoff with Mateo, Special Agent Timothy McGee's son, at the NCIS office.
In addition to dealing with the fallout from last season, the team is now investigating a "mysterious new threat" to the Navy Secretary, according to the official plot logline for Episode 1 of Season 24.
The team won't have to work too hard, though, because Special Agent Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) is back and happy to help. DiNozzo is back in the nation's capital
to open a satellite office for his private security firm.
CBS first announced Weatherly's return in a July 1 Instagram post, writing, "we've missed this one... welcome back, old friend!" CBS featured a smiling and sunglass-wearing Weatherly in its announcement.
"I'll see you in the fall," Weatherly said at the end of the clip.
Here's everything to know ahead of the Season 24 premiere, including where to watch.
