Savannah Guthrie said her family is “begging for help” to find her mother, six months after her disappearance from her Arizona home.
In an Aug. 1 Instagram post
, Guthrie, the NBC News “Today” show host and journalist, called for help to find her 84-year-old mother Nancy Guthrie, who went missing from her home on Feb. 1. Investigators said she was taken against her will from her home near Tucson, Arizona. She hasn’t been seen since a family game night the day before.“Six months ago, someone took her out of her bed in the dead of night,” Savannah Guthrie said in her post. “We have lived every moment, every breath, and every heartbeat in agony and despair ever since.”

for her mother. Days earlier, in an emotional video, she said her family was in “agony,” in a nightmare that wouldn’t end.
Savannah Guthrie said her family is determined “to find out what happened to her, so that we can give her the dignity of a proper goodbye - a celebration of her remarkable life that she so deserves.”
“We are begging for help,” Savannah Guthrie said in her post. “We are desperate. We need someone to come forward. Someone knows something. Someone suspects something.”
Savannah Guthrie called on people to recognize the writing in the “ransom demand notes.” On July 31, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and FBI Phoenix released the contents of two ransom notes purportedly written by kidnappers and sent to local and national news outlets on Feb. 2 and Feb. 6. Officials said the notes have “distinctive patterns of word choice, syntax, and phraseology that reflect the writer’s unique linguistic style.”

No arrests have been made during the months-long search. In February, FBI Phoenix released images of a suspect who was seen in Nancy Guthrie’s front-door camera trying to tamper with the camera before she disappeared. The suspect is described as a man, who is about 5 feet 9-10 inches tall, with an average build. The footage showed him wearing a black, 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker backpack.
FBI is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to Nancy Guthrie’s recovery or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance. The Guthrie family has offered a $1 million reward.
Savannah Guthrie’s Aug. 1 post said the reward is available and that someone can do the right thing.
“We will never stop looking for answers - and we will never stop looking for the light,” she said.
