President Donald Trump declared himself "The Greatest" U.S. president last month, placing himself above Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and Franklin D. Roosevelt in his personal ranking of American presidents.
A new YouGov poll suggests most Americans aren't on the same page. Nearly half of respondents rated Trump a presidential "failure," making him the most negatively rated current or former president included in the survey.
Presidents Lincoln, Washington and John F. Kennedy ranked among the poll's most admired presidents, while Trump and Presidents Joe Biden and Richard Nixon received the most negative assessments.

A different perspective
YouGov's findings diverged significantly from the rankings Trump shared in September.
Rather than viewing Trump as one of the nation's
greatest presidents, 48% of respondents rated him a "failure," the highest share of any president measured in the survey. Biden was next at 35%, followed by Nixon at 28%.
YouGov grouped Trump, Biden and Nixon among the country's most negatively rated presidents.
Trump's own ranking placed Lincoln, Washington and Roosevelt in the tier below his self-designated spot as "The Greatest." In the YouGov survey, however, Lincoln topped the list of "consensus greats," with 57% rating him as great. Washington followed at 52%, while Kennedy ranked third at 37%.
