More than 1,600 pounds of pickled food products have been recalled after being sold to customers without proper inspections, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS).
The FSIS shared the voluntary recall from Texas-based Indus Foods, doing business as Gangothri Foods, on Aug. 17, which included 1,626 pounds of ready-to-eat pickled goat and chicken products. The pickled foods did not undergo the necessary USDA inspections, according to the recall notice.
The affected products were sold nationwide at restaurants, retail locations, distributors and directly to consumers online. Because they have a shelf life of two years, the FSIS is concerned that the jars could still be in pantries and on shelves.

Which pickled products were recalled?
The recalled pickled products were produced between Jan. 28, 2025, and May 6, 2026, and have a two-year shelf life, according to the USDA notice. The products do not have USDA seals of inspection and were sold nationwide.

What to do with recalled pickled products
Do not eat or serve the recalled products, the USDA advises. Instead, throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
