A former Texas deputy is accused of killing three people in Mexico, then trying to flee to the United States with his son, according to a Mexican newspaper.
Chad Eberle, 35, was arrested Aug. 4 at International Bridge II in Piedras Negras, near Eagle Pass,according to La Razon, which identified him as “Chad ‘N.’”
The newspaper reported that the murders followed an argument involving Eberle’s 3-year-old son. According to La Razon, Eberle went to a home on Aug. 4 seeking to take the child and when he was not allowed to leave with him, an argument allegedly broke out. Eberle is accused of opening fire on people inside the home.
The victims were identified as Ana Laura, 44; Laura Jaquelin, 22; and Emanuel, 44. The child’s mother was also seriously
injured, the newspaper reported, but it's not clear if her injuries were a result of the shooting.
Eberle is then accused of fleeing the scene with the 3-year-old child before he was arrested while attempting to enter the United States.
In a post on X, the Coahuila Attorney General’s Office said an arrest warrant had been issued for Eberle on charges of femicide and aggravated homicide. He was taken to the Saltillo Men’s Penitentiary.

Report: Eberle worked as Bexar County deputy constable
Eberle previously worked for several Texas law enforcement agencies, including as a deputy constable with Bexar County Constable Precinct 2 from 2019 to 2020, KSAT 12 reported, citing state records.
He also worked for the Northside ISD Police Department and Somerset Police Department. Eberle is currently employed by the Santa Anna Police Department, KSAT 12 reported, citing records from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
