Awards are great, but for Tom Pelphrey and Kaley Cuoco, there's nothing more rewarding than family.
Pelphrey, who's expecting his second child with "The Big Bang Theory" star, opened up about the couple's expanding family in an interview with E! News at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday, Sept. 14.
"We're both so excited. Our daughter's excited," said Pelphrey, referring to the pair's firstborn, Matilda. "We'll see how it goes when it actually gets there."
The night of the ceremony proved to be a career highlight for Pelphrey, who won his first-ever Emmy, for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series. Following his win, the "Task" actor posed with Cuoco on the red carpet at HBO Max's post-Emmys reception in West Hollywood. In one photo,
Pelphrey playfully cradled Cuoco's baby bump while the actress stared at him with a comically strained smile.

As for the couple's parenting prep, Pelphrey said he and Cuoco are in the process of "switching rooms, swapping things around and laughing at how different it is from one [child] to two."
"[It's] the things that are new and the things that feel like not a big deal this time," Pelphrey added. "But mom and baby are healthy, so God willing, that keeps up, and we're thrilled."
Pelphrey and Cuoco went public with their relationship in May 2022. Cuoco was previously married to former pro tennis player Ryan Sweeting from 2013 to 2016 and equestrian Karl Cook from 2018 to 2022.
The couple welcomed Matilda in March 2023. A year and a half later, Pelphrey and Cuoco became engaged.
And while the actors are excited about their upcoming addition, Pelphrey and Cuoco are keeping some details to themselves, such as the child's name.
"We have one maybe," Pelphrey said. "We always leave open the possibility that she'll sort of declare herself, so we'll see."
Pelphrey gave an emotional shout-out to his family on the Emmys stage after receiving his supporting actor award.
"I thank God for my life and my sobriety. I thank my family and my friends for all your love and support all these years, from Emmys to black box theaters and everything in between," Pelphrey said. "And to my favorite actor in this room: my love, my best friend, my partner, the very pregnant Kaley Cuoco. I love you more than anything, and our family is the crown jewel of my life."
During Pelphrey's remarks, cameras panned to Cuoco, who could be seen crying in the audience.
"Matilda, daddy loves you," Pelphrey added. "Baby girl in that belly, daddy loves you."
