Two members of the Houston Dash staff will not return for the 2027 season, the club announced on Sunday, Sept. 13.
Head coach Fabrice Gautrat and technical director Twila Kilgore are both out and the search for a permanent head coach is already ongoing.
Jaime Frias was appointed the interim head coach for the rest of the season, the team said in a statement.
"Our conviction in this group has not wavered. We believe in the quality of this team and its ability to succeed both this season and beyond. We also have a responsibility to evaluate our trajectory and determine what is needed to achieve the ambitions we have for this team. Ultimately, this decision reflects our commitment to those ambitions and our determination to continue moving the club
forward," Angela Hucles Mangano, Houston Dash president of women’s soccer said in a statement.
"We want to thank Fabrice and Twila for their commitment to the organization and the work they have done on behalf of this organization. They have invested significantly in our players and our club, and we are grateful for their contributions. We wish them both continued success in their careers."
Gautrat was the sixth head coach in team history completed his tenure with the Houston Dash with an overall record of 15-24-11 and his head coaching stint with the team lasted nearly two full seasons, beginning in January 2025 and ending on Sept. 13, 2026. Since the tenure of former coach James Clarkson ended in 2022, the club has cycled through seven different coaches (including interims) over a span of four years.
Kilgore was hired in February 2026 following her stint with the U.S. Women’s National Team. She was the second technical director in team history.
