Week 4 is here, and if you're behind the eight ball in your fantasy league, it's time to turn things around. There's a ton of resources right here on USA TODAY fantasy to help you get back on track. Here, we'll be looking for some players you can pick up from free agency to potentially drop into your lineup if you're dealing with injuries or slow starts.
*Streamers are players who are rostered in 50% or fewer of Yahoo! leagues.
Quarterback
Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks
Darnold is only a 50% roster percentage in Yahoo! leagues, and that's crazy low. He was rostered, he was hurt, he was dropped, and now he hasn't been picked back up yet. He's up against the Chargers defense, which has allowed 223.0 passing yards per game (12th-most), and sit at 0.02 EPA/play (18th). They're not a defense to
worry about, and with a healthy set of offensive options around him, Darnold has weekly QB1 potential.
Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts
We're going to target the Washington Commanders defense all season, so get on board. They're allowing 30.7 points per game (second-worst), 280.3 passing yards per game (second-worst), and sit at 0.08 EPA/play (seventh-worst). They're a sieve on defense and have allowed 27.4 fantasy points per game...the 2nd-worst. Target them every week.
Running Back
Brian Robinson, Atlanta Falcons
Robinson had a touchdown last week against the Packers, which certainly boosts his fantasy production, but more importantly, he had 10 carries for 50 yards. That level of production is more what we're after, and that could be replicated this week. He's up against the Saints, who've allowed 128.7 rushing yards per game, which is the 6th-worst in the league. Their defensive Rush EPA is at -0.038, which is 24th in the league. Yes, Bijan Robinson is the main guy, but Brian Robinson has a path to production.
Kendre Miller, New Orleans Saints
With Travis Etienne expected to miss time, the Saints are going to rotate running backs. Alvin Kamara is the de facto starter, but Miller isn't that far behind. He's played on 24.0% of the offensive snaps and had three targets in Week 3 versus the Raiders. It's clear he didn't do much with the seven total touches, but that should be his floor with Etienne gone.
Keaton Mitchell, Los Angeles Chargers
While the Chargers offense is a bit of a disaster, Mitchell is seeing some good usage. Omarion Hampton isn't as much of a feature back as we anticipated, opening the door for Mitchell to grab some fantasy points. He had a total of 11 touches last week, including a 10.0% red zone target share, and a 16.7% red zone carry share. It's a tough matchup versus the Seahawks, but if Mitchell is taking usage away from Hampton, he'll have a path forward in fantasy.
Wide Receiver
Keenan Allen, Indianapolis Colts
With Alec Pierce out with an injury, Allen stepped up in Week 3 with a 6/63/1 stat line. He's earned a 25.7% target share and a 40.0% red zone target share, which is pretty darn good to find in free agency. As usual, we're targeting the Washington Commanders' secondary, which has allowed 48.7 PPR fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. He plays, he earns targets, and he has a great matchup.
Kalif Raymond, Chicago Bears
I guess Raymond is a real thing for the Bears offense. He's up at 65.7% offensive snap rate, a 23.3% target share, and a 16.7% red zone target share, all of which are the second-highest on the Bears. He's producing at a consistent rate and should be able to continue that versus the Jets this week. The Jets have been solid on defense, but that type of usage is tough to find in free agency.
Malik Washington, Miami Dolphins
Yes, the Dolphins are bad, and they lost their best player, De'Von Achane, but that should force them even further into passing game scripts. A big 85.7% snap rate, team-high 27.1% target share, 25.0% red zone target share, and 12.0 air yards per target. He has big-play ability and should see plenty of usage despite a tough matchup versus the Minnesota Vikings.
Tight End
Darren Waller, Carolina Panthers
With Jalen Coker banged up and his status uncertain, Waller is trending upward. He's only playing on 43.3% of the offensive snaps and has a 12.0% target share overall, but that jumped to 19% in Week 3 when Coker left the game early. He's a proven red zone target, which can bring him value on just a few receptions.
Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams
Who's going to play for the Rams? That's one of the main questions in Week 4, with Puka Nacua questionable, but expected to play. Tight end Terrance Ferguson is doubtful and Colby Parkinson is questionable. This helped Higbee earn 11 targets in the Sunday night game versus the Broncos, where he finished with an 8/62/0 line. Will he get 11 targets if Puka is back? Probably not, but 6-8 targets is reasonable and a high snap share is likely.
T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings
With Justin Jefferson listed as questionable, there's an opening for Hockenson to play a bigger role in the passing game. It'd be helpful if we saw some level of competency from Kyler Murray, but it's a great matchup versus the Dolphins, who've allowed 16.0 PPR points per game to opposing tight ends.
Defense
Buffalo Bills
Is the Bills defense great? Probably not, but they're up against the struggling Drake Maye and Patriots offense. The Bills do have a 29.0% pressure rate, which is the third-best in the NFL. Maye has taken 9 sacks and thrown 6 interceptions in three games, which should be enticing for the Bills defense if that pressure rate can be replicated.
