Reese's is hitting the streets for a sweet new nationwide Halloween contest.
The candy brand is hosting a competition to declare the "trick-or-treatiest" street in America, it announced in an Oct. 1 press
release.
The criteria for each street is "a combination of Halloween enthusiasm, neighborhood characteristics and community spirit that makes a street stand out," Reese's said. The winning street will get a special block party and "epic trick-or-treating experience," the release said.
While Reese's initially narrowed the list down to 150 streets, a council of what it calls "Halloween icons" will be deciding the winning street.
The council includes actresses Christina Ricci and Kathy Najimy, plus creators Rachel Iwanyszyn, Zaire Alford and Macy Blackwell. They will announce the winning street on Oct. 21.
"What I love is a street where the whole block gets into it – where the grown-ups are having as much fun as the kids. I can’t wait to see all the costumes, candy, creativity and Halloween spirit to take the crown," Najimy said in a statement.

How is Reese's choosing the trick-or-treatiest street in America?
Reese's said it narrowed its contest down to 150 streets across the country by analyzing a range of data including Halloween item purchasing behavior, Census data and walkability. It also incorporated insights from a survey of 15,000 residents.
The winner will be decided by the Halloween council, including Ricci, Najimy, Iwanyszyn, Alford and Blackwell, and announced on Oct. 21.
